Cooking Classes and Parties

We try to do at least two cooking classes per month with new and seasonal recipes. Our classes are held on Tuesday nights. We have over 400 recipes on our website and Terry has created most of them for our classes. Check back regularly for new recipes and updates.

We can customize a private class/party for you using any of our recipes. We've done many parties, including birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and corporate events.

Just have a get together with your friends!

 

Private Class/Party Information

We require a minimum of 12 people for an event

You pick three recipes of your choice. We will pick sides to compliment your choices.

Our famous key lime pie for dessert.

B.Y.O.B. We provide soft drinks

Private classes require a $300.00 non-refundable deposit

These classes have a one week cancellation policy.

We need to know at least 7 days prior to canceling or changing these events.

We prefer to host on Tuesday nights and offer the best price on that night.

Tuesday: $75.00 per person

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: $100.00 per person

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: $125.00 per person

Our goal is to promote the health and taste benefits of cooking fish and seafood at home. Fish is easy and we want to prove it to you!

Dirk and Terry Fucik are a husband and wife team that use

their shared expertise to teach the classes.

We are both self made chefs who both cook and experiment with lots of different dishes and ingredients (Terry is an awesome cook and culinary genius). We try to focus on easy to prepare and tasty dishes using only the very best ingredients. All in a friendly and casual atmosphere with small classes. Fish and seafood is what we do best with various ethnic flairs thrown in, especially Cuban/Hispanic.

Fish is the original fast food and we specialize in showing you why!

Our classes are B.Y.O.B.

We encourage you to bring a bottle of you favorite wine,

a friend, a date, your mate and make a night of it!

You will walk away full of good food, good company and all the recipes we demonstrate that evening.

Our classes are held at the shop after hours.

Join us for one of our original cooking classes. We come up with many easy to prepare delicious fish and seafood recipes. Only sustainable ocean products are used in all our cooking classes so you can feel good about what you eat. Terry, Dirk's wife is an awesome cook and is instrumental in developing our recipes. We do our classes in the  store and we grill outside. Our classes are mostly demonstrations where you watch, ask questions and eat all that we prepare. B.Y.O.B. your favorite beverage and join us for a casual evening of educational fun and good eating. we serve all that we cook and it's always a very fulfilling meal!

Terry is an amazing cook with phenomenal recipes and Dirk knows his fresh fish!

Sautéed spring vegetables, Neuchatel cheese, hickory smoked salmon and seasoned eggs. This is a great brunch or dinner and cooks well on the grill. People are always amazed at the flavors of this dish and the ease of preparation.

Wild Gulf Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers

There is no better shrimp for the grill than wild Gulf shrimp! We marinate the shrimp and pineapple in a sweet and hot marinade and then serve the skewers over a grilled watermelon salad.

Grilled Spicy Tuna Nicoise Salad

You will love this twist on the classic  favorite prepared with Terry’s awesome dressing. A perfect one dish meal for summer entertaining.

Grilled Fish Sliders

You already know how good hamburgers are on the grill so now we will show you our favorite fish sliders. Quick and easy, these mini burgers filled with different cheeses and served with grilled onion will put your regular burgers on the back burner! What goes better with burgers than Terry’s version of Homemade Potato Salad? Nothing!

Grilled Sea Scallops

Back by popular request, Sea Scallops with Guava Balsamic Glaze/BBQ Sauce.

This sauce is so good you just want to eat it with a spoon! Originally for scallops, we found it to be good on halibut and sturgeon too. You can even try it on your next batch of chicken or ribs, it's Terry-fic!

We will serve these succulent scallops over another of our favorite summer salads, Arugula with Guava Vinaigrette. 

Cobia with Herb Spinach Pesto

Many people have not even heard of cobia, let alone even tried it. This firm white fleshed fish is especially good on the grill due to its high fat content. Terry’s pesto is always great and the combination of seasonal garden fresh herbs along with a spinach base is an outstanding way to highlight to flavors of the cobia fillets. We will take advantage of all the great produce available this time of year and serve up a killer batch of grilled veggies to compliment the cobia.

Learn about the fish, rice, sushi, and equipment.

We will first demonstrate an assortment of maki rolls and nigiri.

During the demonstration, we will serve our home made miso soup and ginger avocado tuna salad, after which it's hands on rolling your own dinner.

JUNE CLASSES

Join us for our first grill class of the summer season. We’ve come up with some great easy casual summer recipes for the grill that are sure to taste amazing and impress your friends. Terry has incorporated some tasty twists on these classic grill recipes which would be outstanding for a family dinner or to entertain your guests at the weekend BBQ.

 

Zesty Tako Tacos:

A savory Latin marinated octopus with red cabbage and avocado cream served with fresh pico de gallo.

Mediterranean Trout Burger:

Herbed rainbow trout with home made tzatziki sauce, pickled onions, and arugula on a grilled pita.

Asian Rockin’ Rock Shrimp Wrap:

Togarashi seasoned grilled rock shrimp with crispy Asian slaw and creamy avocados.

Cobia Sliders:

A seasoned blend of cobia makes a great mini burger and goes to the next level when we add herbed goat cheese and Terry’s jalapeño/ tomato chutney. Stand back White Castle!

Our friends and customers are always asking us when we are going to do a class featuring all of Terry's fantastic Cuban dishes. So by popular demand, we are putting one together for you. Cold and snowy, now that the cold nights of January are upon us,
