Fish Tacos with Marlin Steaks



  • 1 1/2 pounds marlin steaks about 1/2 inch thick

  • olive oil

  • blackening spice

  • Hard or soft tortillas, your choice. I like the flour ones best.

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • 1 tomato, chopped (Tomatillos are good too)

  • 1 small head of lettuce, shredded

  • Hot sauce of choice, sriracha or cholula are both good


  • Black or refried beans

  • Cheese

  • Onions

  • Black olives

  • Anything else you like...


  • Be sure to cut the marlin into 1/2 inch thick steaks, it will cook more quickly. Rub the marlin with olive oil. Dust with a coating of blackening spice, the more you use, the spicier it gets. Saute in pan with olive oil or grill for about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Remove and cut into strips or crumble into flakes.

  • Add marlin to tortillas and top with fillings of your choice, simple!

  • Serves 4 people. Enjoy!
